The division eliminated manual processing and double handling with a mobile app deployed on tablets to perform mining equipment inspections. Using the app, Bis personnel can compare before and after hire pictures and asset inspection details to make resolving recharge issues more efficient.
The app not only shortens lead times to move assets through workshops and back on hire, but also increases end-to-end supply chain visibility. Asset maintenance, suppliers and customers utilize the output from the DSI solution. The DSCP’s prebuilt integration with Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne enables Bis personnel to create a work order at the time a customer signs off on repairs on the tablet. As a result, the app has decreased the time taken to provide a damage claim to the customer.
